Sour Toast

I have done thumbnails,  the 2D keys and the timing before working on the first pass. It really helps out a lot to get the movements and timing out on paper first.

Mood Swings Update

I have made some changes to the animation. The Golf swing was a big challenge because I didn't realize how unnatural the movement was for the human body.

Just the rough keys for the golf swing. The timing needs to be adjusted a bit.

Mood Swings:Timing

Mood Swings is about a character who is golfing. For this project i am going to be focusing on timing and movement, not so much acting.
Set up my timing charts and did the keys in 2D.

Don't Fall Asleep: WIP

Rendered and lit. Need to go back and fix some of the timing  add more eases to the body- especially the hands so it does not feel so floaty. I am also planning another camera for the punch line.

Don't Fall Asleep: Pass 2

For the second Pass I focused mainly on arcs and eases. In this pass I also adjusted the timing.

Don't Fall Asleep timing

I'm keeping it short and simple, I think that is how I can refine my 3D animation skills. My goal is to show acting that focuses body movement. A new method I'm trying of doing this is to draw the keys traditionally and time it out so see the pacing.

The show must go on: First pass

This is the first time in a 3D animation that I focus on the key frames first instead of animating straight ahead, which I usually do, and I am liking it a lot better than the way I am used to doing it.

Redid some of the thumbnails to make the poses more dynamic and readable.

Thumbnails: The Show Must Go On

I am transitioning from 2D to 3D animation for the new set of projects. For the first project I am going to use the Eleven rig from the 11 Second Club. Here are the thumbnails of my newest project. In the animation Eleven is pushed out on stage to suddenly perform. At first Eleven is nervous but then after getting into the rhythm the character starts to enjoy it until at the end she slips up and falls.

Elderberry

Meet Ritz, a ball of energy who likes to make his friends laugh. In this little animation Ritz is mimicking something he saw. This project was finished in early December of 2012. Sound clip from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

"I've Had Enough"

From sketches to inks, here is Filbert. My goal was to to have a change in emotion. This project was done in November of 2013. The audio clip is Oscar from Sesame Street.

I remember the Boring Stuff

Done in late October, this is the rough version of my first lip sync animation. At the time I had not done a 2D animation for about a year. The sound clip used: Russell from Pixar's Up
